In this episode, Karin welcomes Meg of Megsy Recovery, eating disorder recovery advocate, YouTuber, and mother, to the show in, “Recovering For Our Lives.”
Join Karin and Meg for a conversation on the focus of CBT-E vs. CBT therapeutic models, pushing past physical discomfort, Meg’s use of mantras to quiet the ED voice, mindfulness practice for slowing impulsivity, facing grief and suffering during the recovery journey, navigating body changes during pregnancy, the importance of understanding body diversity, and much more.
Meg is an eating disorder recovery advocate, YouTuber, and mother residing in the UK. After battling an eating disorder for fifteen years of her life, Meg received CBT-E (enhanced cognitive behavior therapy) which, (in Meg’s own words), “completely changed my life.”
In 2018, Meg decided to share her recovery process, what’s she learned from therapy and from her healing journey, beginning on YouTube and Instagram. Since then, “Megsy Recovery” has accumulated tens of thousands of followers who have watched Meg tackle the challenges and the successes from her eating disorder recovery. Meg currently lives in Dubai with her husband and son.
